April 01-25, 2016 Desert Hot Springs, California

Set up camp at Caliente Hot Springs. A nice RV resort in the town of Desert Hot Springs. It has a large pool and several hot tubs that are all fed from hot springs deep under the resort... no chlorine here!

We set up here as home base for Michael, Zach and me to start our hike of the Pacific Crest Trail.

CAMPO...
On April 8th, Cori dropped us at the border (Campo, CA) where we started the hike. It was a dark, rainy morning, but excited to start the hike...

After dropping us in Campo, Cori continued on to San Diego for the day...

SALTON SEA...
On April 11, Cori visited the Salton Sea just southeast of Desert Hot Springs. This place is like a ghost area with a lot of ruins and abandoned places... left over of what was once "the place to be".

WARNER SPRINGS...

Picked up the guys at Ranchita...  They hiked past the 100 mile mark!!!  In six days!!!

Picked up  the guys  at Warner Springs to take them around a detour due to The Mountain Fire that occurred in 2013. We had lunch at the Paradise Cafe and did a little shopping in Idyllwild before dropping them off at Humber State Park and heading back to Desert Hot Springs via Mt. San Jacinto State Park.

BIG BEAR...

Visited Big Bear Alpine Zoo which is a rehabilitation zoo for injured or endangered animals.
