Nov 20 - Dec 20, 2016 Port Arthur, Texas

Moved to Port Arthur to spend Thanksgiving with Cori's parents... Stayed at Port Arthur RV Resort. Basic RV park with lots of permanent workers. However, the park is clean and relatively quiet with two exceptions: 1. Hwy 365 is really loud and 2. Early mornings when all the workers fire up their diesel trucks to go to work!

Spent these few weeks visiting with family and enjoying some down time... Will miss Debi's and Erik's cooking!!! But off we go to Louisiana and getting ready for 2017!!!

Nov 7 - 20, 2016 Somerville, TX

Somerville Texas a small town just northwest of Houston. This was our hang out place when we lived in Houston. A nice small lake maintained by the Army Corp of Engineers.

We spent two weeks enjoying the lake...

Toby really enjoys riding in the boat

Oct 4 - Nov 7, 2016 Katy, Texas

Drove back to Katy on Monday... arrived Tuesday morning. Staying at Katy Lake RV Resort. This is where we started our adventure and "home base" is there is such a thing. We were here for a month... Dr. visits, coach maintenance, traded the jeep for a truck, etc, etc, etc...

First phase of our adventure is over...
Really enjoyed the west coast and have many places we have to go back and explore... Now we start planning our next phase, which will be traveling up the east coast...

But before we head that way, will still have some stops along the way... keep watching!

September 22 Oct 3, 2016 Los Alamos, New Mexico

Drove over 32 hours and 1500 miles from Anacortes to Los Alamos, New Mexico. It rained most of the way except around the Moab area... pretty miserable drive. Set up camp near Andrew's house, but had to move since the place is really a parking lot with electricity (no water or sewer). Moved to Roadrunner RV Park... not many thrills, but closer to Andrew's... about 30 minutes.

Andrew's house is very old and need a lot of TLC, but when done it is going to be very nice... we got to work right away...

In a week, we painted most of the house inside, made some repairs and help clear up the garage so he can put his truck in... Lots more to do... next time!!!

September 5-22, 2016 Anacortes, Washington

Arrived in Anacortes on Monday Labor Day... Traffic leaving the area was very heavy... Staying at Pioneer Trails RV Resort... a very nice camp where people own their site and rent it when not using it. Wooded, hilly and impecable grounds... we could hang here for a while, but have to finish with the hikers first!!

Celebrated our first anniversary at Anthony's restaurant with Debi and Erik...

WASHINGTON PARK
Walked around Washington Park... The land in the background is some of the San Juan Islands... very nice views!!!

DECEPTION PASS
This pass is in between two land masses with an extraordinarily strong current. The first people to see this thought that the current came from a mighty river upstream. Years later when the area was mapped, it was discovered that there was no mighty river, but a very strong ocean current in between two islands, Fidalgo Island and Whidbey Island.. hence the deception...

Next to the pass on Fidalgo Island is Bowman Bay... very nice area...

On Whidbey Island there is an Air Force Base... we got treated to some jets doing "touch and go's".

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA, CANADA
Drove to two hours north to Vancouver. Spent the day in Stanley Park but did not have time to walk the gardens. The views from the park are really nice...

SAN JUAN ISLAND
An hour ferry ride from Anacortes takes you to Friday Harbor in San Juan Island. This island is about 50 square miles, but as small as it is, you don't have the time to explore it in one day... will be back to spend more time here and some of the other islands...

Lots of boats enjoying the great weather...

Passengers on a "Three Hour Tour"... (Gilligan is taking the picture)

Great views of Mount Baker in the distance...

I want this!!!

Or this!!!
HARTS PASS, WA
Drove to Harts Pass on "Washington's most dangerous road" to meet the hikers and for Monty join them the last 40 miles to the end at Manning Park, Canada...

Hikers at Harts Pass...

MANNING PARK, BC, CANADA

After finishing the trail at the border, the hikers needed to hike an additional 9 miles to get to Manning Park, Canada where they were picked up...

From here we are heading to Los Alamos, NM to visit Andrew and then back to Houston for a short stay...
