Jul 30 - Aug 14, 2017 Batavia, New York

Arrived to Batavia a little concerned about the campsite. The reviews were mixed... great surprise, this place is really nice and very well kept. It has a new section for big rigs that works great!

NIAGARA FALLS, NY
Our first order of business was to drive to Niagara Falls, about 1hr from here. We walked on the rainbow bridge and crossed the border to Canada for the best view of the falls. Had to stand in line in the sun for about an hour to get through immigration. As usual Canadian customs are not the friendly sort and since we are from Texas their main question was if we were carrying firearms!!! Not the first person to ask that up here in the Northeast... I guess Texas has a reputation!!! Also, we found that Elvis is alive and living in Canada although his singing leaves a lot to be desired... hahaha...

Now to add insult to injury, you have to pay 50 cents per person to leave Canada... WHAT?? they have four change machines right there to feed the turnstile... Sorry Canadians but that is Chicken-S***...

LETCHWORTH STATE PARK, NY
This park is a 45 minute drive south of our park. Really nice drive through a lot of farm land and quaint little towns. The park is a long drive along the Genesee River. The river flows north along a deep canyon with breath taking views. The locals call it the "Grand Canyon of the East"... It is nice, but not to that scale! It has three large waterfalls aptly named Lower, Middle and Upper falls. We could not get close to the upper falls due to construction in the area, but got a far away shot of it...

Upper Falls
Could not get there because of construction, but you can see it in the background near the bridge... (Middle Falls in the foreground)

FINGER LAKES AREA, NY
We were west of the Finger Lakes, so got to visit four on the west side...

Conesus Lake
On the north end of the lake is Vitale Park... very nice small park with lots of people walking their dogs... We drove all the way around the lake and could not find a place to take pictures, but for another park on the west side... This lake is way over-built all the way around... too bad...

Hemlock Lake
This lake seems to be man-made with a dam on the north end. We could not see any private properties around the lake, just a few kayakers and a few small boats... nice!

Canadice Lake
This lake like Hemlock is not built up. Again, kayakers and small boats... very nice

Honeoye Lake
This lake is built, but not as bad as Conesus Lake. Lots of boaters...

BUFFALO, NY
Had to take the coach to Buffalo to get some recall work done on the frame... It's hard to see your home at the shop, but needs to be done...

While they worked on the coach, we took a drive to downtown Buffalo. Went to Canalside in Buffalo. This is a boardwalk next to the canal that comes from Lake Erie with Canada being on the other side of the canal. Very nice area, Toby had a ball...

Toby enjoying Lake Erie...

Good time here, but it's time to move on... Going to the Lake George area on the border between New York and Vermont...
