Jun 26 - Jul 07 Quincy, California PART 2

We visited so many places that we needed to break this stay into three blogs...

HIGH SIERRA MUSIC FESTIVAL
We happened to be here during this festival... Four days of music and fun where a lot of hippies and hippie wannabes gather in Quincy's fairgrounds, mostly in tents, and have fun. The RV park was at capacity, but with well behaved people just wanting to have a good time!

LAKE TAHOE - West Side
On our way to meet the guys again in Lake Tahoe. This time we took the west side of the lake to get there. While the east side is mostly an elevated road and you have to hike down to the lake, the west side road has more areas at lake level and more ups and downs. We liked it more because of the variations...

ECHO LAKE
West of Lake Tahoe is Echo Lake. We came here for the guys to resume their hike and were impressed by this small but very nice lake...

GOLD LAKE BASIN/FRAZIER FALLS
South of Quincy we found the Gold Lake Basin. It includes Gold Lake, Goose Lake, Haven Lake, Snag Lake, Salmon Lake and a few others... Very nice area with a lot of campsites.

Gold Lake
Goose Lake
Unnamed Lake

Frazier Falls is north of the Lakes area. The water for this fall mostly comes from melting snow...

CRYSTAL LAKE
Visited Crystal Lake just north of Quincy. This is a very small lake, but the views are fantastic. The view is from the top of Hough Mountain. Again the snow peak in the background is Lassen Peak and the large lake in the distance is Lake Almanor.

View from Mount Hough
